Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the BeHub mobile application and services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service. These Terms apply to all users, including clients and service providers.

2. Description of Service

BeHub is a platform that connects clients with beauty service providers, including:

  • Braiding services
  • Barber services
  • Makeup services
  • Manicure and pedicure services

BeHub facilitates bookings, payments, and reviews but is not directly responsible for the services provided by independent service providers.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

You must create an account to use our Service. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

3.2 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Service. By using BeHub, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3.3 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Service Provider Terms

4.1 Background Checks

All service providers must undergo background checks through our third-party verification service (Checkr). You consent to this verification process and agree to provide accurate information.

4.2 Service Standards

Service providers agree to:

  • Provide professional and quality services
  • Maintain appropriate licenses and certifications
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Honor confirmed bookings or cancel with reasonable notice
  • Start and complete services through the app

4.3 Independent Contractor Status

Service providers are independent contractors, not employees of BeHub. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and regulatory compliance.

5. Booking and Payments

5.1 Booking Process

Clients can book services through the app. All bookings are subject to provider acceptance and availability. Service providers can choose between walk-in mode (clients visit provider's location) or walk-to mode (provider travels to client).

5.2 Payment Terms

  • Payments are processed through Stripe
  • Funds are held in escrow until service completion
  • Both client and provider must confirm service completion
  • BeHub charges a platform service fee on each transaction
  • Providers receive payment immediately after service validation

5.3 Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made through the app. Cancellation fees may apply depending on timing:

  • More than 24 hours before service: Full refund
  • Less than 24 hours before service: 50% refund
  • No-show: No refund

Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in account penalties.

6. Ratings and Reviews

Clients may rate and review service providers after service completion. Reviews must be honest, accurate, and respectful. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our community guidelines, including those that are:

  • Fraudulent or fake
  • Containing personal attacks or harassment
  • Including discriminatory or offensive content
  • Violating privacy or confidentiality

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to bypass our payment or verification systems
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Submit false or misleading information
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated systems to access the Service
  • Share your account with others
  • Engage in fraudulent booking or payment activities

8. Intellectual Property

The BeHub platform, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by BeHub LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

9.1 Service "As Is"

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9.2 Third-Party Services

BeHub is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by independent service providers. While we conduct background checks, we cannot guarantee the conduct or qualifications of providers.

9.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeHub shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BeHub LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

You agree to waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the app. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
